As frontman Bani Haykal has shared with us, “B-Quartet’s new body of work’s title has been finalized and is called Conformity Has Replaced Consciousness.” The title is a phrase taken off a lecture by German Social Philosopher, Theodor Adorno back in 1963.
The follow-up to 2008’s Tomorrow Is Our Permanent Address, in his words, “is a light discourse on matters like the culture we live in today, consumerism, anarchy, identity of self and dogmas. And this ties in with music, popular music for that matter.”
Haykal shares, “The new work here is based on several research material, including the history of jazz, popular music and the culture, music as an absolute form of expression and several others pertaining to this little space we occupy which some call home.”
Conformity Has Replaced Consciousness is due in early April 2010.
