Humpback Oak readies boxset

Before he went to form and front genre-blending art-rock act The Observatory, Leslie Low was leading a band of folk-rock troubadours known as Humpback Oak.

The legendary Singaporean act which was formed in 1990 has decided to release a 4-CD boxset of all their 3 albums: 1994’s Pain-stained Morning, 1997’s Ghostfather, 1999’s SideASideB and a rarities CD containing live performances and demos. From what we understand, the boxset would be limited to 500 copies only. So this makes it uber-exclusive.

As posted on their official Facebook fan page, Leslie shares with long-time fans:

Thanks for all the years of listening and support. Vincent, Stanley, Daniel and (I) are gonna be personally assembling the boxset this weekend. Hah. Wish us luck on the factory floor. It’s more like my living room. Pann and Gian from Kinetic design has helped us on this passion project all this while. Big thanks to Pann for sticking through with this. Just wanna say we are really excited and happy. Thank you guys for this despite your busy schedules. Best! Also, we are in the midst of getting distribution and setting up an online purchase via website. Stay tuned for details.

As some of you guys might know, said creative designer Pann (Lim) is also from an veteran Singapore rock act Concave Scream which has 5 albums out in their 17-year history as a band. Time for a best-of compilation too, eh?
